In Loving Memory of Jane M. Sweet Jane Mariah Lee, a native of Rochester, NY, was born 96 years ago to Charles and Katherine Lee. She left this world unexpectedly on October 20, 2023. Jane led a fortunate life. She embraced the beauty of simplicity, characterized by her unwavering dedication to hard work and the people she cherished most: her family and friends. Family and Legacy Jane outlived many loved ones from her extensive family. She is survived by her two children, John (Jack) W. Conlon, married to Karen; and Jill Caccamise, married to Dana. Her legacy continues through her four adoring grandchildren: Dana J. Caccamise II, who is married to Sarah; Kary A. Ashby, who is married to Paul; Jared Conlon; and Heidi Ingham, who is married to Andy. She is blessed with great-grandchildren, Maia Caccamise, Savannah Ashby, Graeme Ashby, Sydney Ingham, and Liam Ingham, and indeed they, too, carry on the memory of her playful, spontaneous love of life and joy. Jane was known for her feisty and spirited nature, endearing her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her daily 4:00 P.M. cocktail hour was a cherished ritual, a time to relax and savor the sweetness of life. She was a woman of impeccable taste, always a fashionable dresser, with her appearance reflecting the meticulous care she gave to everything she’d undertake, including baking her scrumptious pies and cookies. Most recently, she was a seven-year resident of the Bishop Gibbons Apartments, where her social life included playing Bingo and frequently entertaining residents with impromptu concerts on her organ and the piano for her many friends. She immensely enjoyed her time at Bishop Gibbons where she forged deep connections with her fellow residents. She loved to play golf at the Deerwood Golf Course until age 95, a testament to her vitality and zest for life. Jane was also a dedicated Buffalo Bills fan, and she rarely missed a game, so passionately did she enjoy supporting her team. Though Jane led a life of simplicity, she worked diligently for everything she possessed and never wanted more. She was well on her way to celebrating her 97th birthday when she experienced a sudden decline in health. Ultimately, she graced us with over 96 incredible years, a gift for which her loved ones remain eternally grateful. Jane's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Her legacy is one of strength, love, and devotion, and she leaves behind a profound mark on the lives she touched. We will always remember her with love, gratitude, and the fondness that her spirited presence brought into our lives. In place of flowers, the family kindly requests any inspired donations be made to Niagara Hospice in honor of Jane Sweet's memory; we are sincerely grateful for their compassionate care and service. Services to celebrate Jane's life will be held at Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda, NY 14120, with a visitation on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 2:00 P.M. through 7:00 P.M., with the memorial service immediately following. A private family service and burial ceremony will be held on Saturday morning at the Machpelah Cemetery Le Roy, New York.
