Nazario "Butch" Cerrillo

Nazario “Butch” Cerrillo, 80 years old, passed away on March 18th, 2026, with his beloved wife at his side. Born in Niagara Falls, New York, on July 28th, 1945, Butch brought immeasurable love and light to the lives of everyone around him. Butch was preceded in death by his father Nazario Cerrillo and his mother Barbara Baksa. Butch is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Debbie Cerrillo; his many sisters and brother; his 5 children, Phillip Cerrillo, Jason Cerrillo (Melissa), Jennifer Stringfellow, Annmarie Wishman (Ronnie), and Joseph Monette (Nancy); and his 10 grandchildren, Matthew Stringfellow, Gavin Cerrillo, Phillip Cerrillo, Nicholas Sanderelli, Jason Cerrillo, Leah Cerrillo, Audrey Stringfellow, AnthonySanderelli, Marley Monette, and Patrick Monette. He will also be eternally missed by many other cherished friends and family members. Throughout his life, Butch loved spending his time building street rods and taking them to carshows; riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle; keeping up with Nascar racing; visiting the casino; and going on road trips with his wife to visit their family in Arizona. Butch worked as a Teamster and later as an auxiliary officer in North Tonawanda. Butch was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, bravely serving his country when he was called to the service. Beyond all of this, though, Butch was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, with an adventurous spirit, boundless energy, and a sense of humor that could ignite any room with laughter. He will forever live on in the cherished memories of everyone he knew. Butch’s wake will be held on Tuesday, March 24th, from 4-8 p.m. at Wattengel Funeral Home, located at 533 Meadow Drive in North Tonawanda, New York. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 25th, starting at 9:30am, with mass at Our Lady of Czestochowa, located at 57 Center Avenue in North Tonawanda, New York, followed by entombment in the mausoleum at Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the ICU and Hospice staff at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo as well as the Niagara Hospice staff for their compassion and care during Butch’s final days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Butch’s name to Niagara Hospice.
