Peter C. Urbanek Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Peter C Urbanek, 78 of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022. Peter was born in Buffalo on July 25, 1943, to Joseph and Helen (Marciniak) Urbanek. He is predeceased by his sister Patricia. He graduated from Amherst Central High School, Class of 1961. He was an Air Force veteran stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Mountain Home, Idaho. He was honorably discharged in 1964. On his return to Buffalo, he was employed by American Optical, then Joy Manufacturing/Cooper Cameron, he retired after 38 years as a Mechanical Engineer. In his retirement he enjoyed “six Saturdays and a Sunday” and spent his time at classic car shows locally and around the country. He was an avid reader, music listener, lover of spicy food. He never missed a day at Tim Hortons, reading or reminiscing with friends. He loved time spent with his great grandchildren. He is also missed by his four legged family, Mercedes, Nanook, Harley and Buddie. Peter is the devoted father of Kimberly Kubala, fiancé of Robert Allinger. Cherished grandfather of Sara (Luke) Weishaupt, and Meggy Kubala, adored great grandfather “GG” of Aria and Alex, also surviving is his former son in law Christopher Kubala as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends may call Sunday, May 1 from 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM at the Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive North Tonawanda. A non-denominational service with military honors will be held at 12:30 PM. A gathering from 2 PM – 4 PM with lite refreshments will be held at the Buffalo Marriott Lecom Harbor Center, 95 Main Street, parking is available in the attached garage.
