Richard F. Stilwell

April 27, 1932 - April 21, 2022

Richard “Dick” F. Stilwell, 89, of North Tonawanda, passed away on April 21,2022. Dick was born to Violet and Frank Stilwell in North Tonawanda. Dick graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1950, he went on to join the Navy in 1952. While in the Navy, Dick became a metal smith, salvage diver, received the Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Medal, and Defense Service Medal, then was honorably discharged in 1955. During this time, he married Marian Werberger and started a family. After the Navy, Dick worked for Continental Container Corp. /Stone Container on Shawnee Rd. and retired after many years of service. Dick went on many overseas mission trips to India, Africa and Haiti. He is a board member 0f New Beginnings International Training Center “NBITC” in Jamaica from its beginning to this day. He also served at SonRays Ministries, his favorite local ministry, for many years. Dick was also a founding member and Elder at Vanguard Church. Dick was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed deer hunting, waterfowl hunting, fishing and fast boats. Besides his three children, there were many people that could call him dad and mentor. Richard is survived by his wife Marian Stilwell (nee Werberger), brother James and sister-in-law Anita Stilwell (nee Hale), sister-in-law Kathryn (nee Werberger) and spouse Michael Dudkowski. Children, Mike and Ruthann Stilwell (nee Abraham), Dave and Donna (nee Buss) Stilwell, Pam (nee Stilwell) and Dave Leaver, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
