Carol A. Arnold

Carol Ann (Erb) Arnold 86 years old, of North Tonawanda, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born on January 19th, 1940, in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Wilfred Erb and Clara (Surgo) Erb. After the passing of her mother, Clara, Carol moved to Western New York with her father and sisters, where she was raised and built a life centered on faith, family, and community. Carol graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy in Kenmore in 1958 and carried the values of compassion, devotion, and service with her throughout her life. On January 9th, 1960, Carol married the love of her life, Kenneth Arnold, at St. Amelia’s Church in Tonawanda. Together they shared 51 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, adventure, and dedication to their family before Kenneth’s passing on June 16th, 2011. Together, they built a beautiful family of three children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, which remained the center of Carol’s life and greatest pride. Carol devoted her life to caring for her home and raising her three children, creating a warm and loving environment where family always came first. She found joy in the simple moments of everyday life. Reading a good book, sipping a cup of Earl Grey tea, enjoying a sweet chocolate treat, and listening to Elvis Presley. She cherished time spent with friends in her book clubs and card clubs and treasured the many conversations and laughter shared over the years. Faith was a guiding force in Carol’s life. She was a deeply devoted Catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle Roman Catholic Church. Carol was an active member of the Rosary Guild Society and remained closely involved in her parish community. Her faith provided her strength and comfort throughout her life, and she shared that faith with her family through her example of kindness, humility, and unwavering devotion. More than anything, Carol loved her family. She was a proud and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with those she loved. Her home was always a place of warmth, welcome, and unconditional love, and her gentle presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Remaining to cherish Carol’s memory are her children, daughter Pamela (husband, Scott), son Scott (wife, Susan), son Mark (fiancée, Kimberly); grandchildren Ian (wife, Stacy), Rachel, Justin (wife, Sarah), Michael, Mathew (fiancée, Tracy), Kristen (husband, Anthony), Julianne, Sarah (fiancé, Patrick); and great grandchildren Finn, Chloe, Levi, Avery, Owen, Mackenzie. She is also survived by her sisters, Elaine Voss and Meg Martin. Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth; her parents, Clara and Wilfred Erb; her stepmother, Doris; and her sister, Kathryn. Visitation will be held on March 17th from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Dr, North Tonawanda, NY 14120. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on March 18th at 9:30 AM at St. Christopher’s RC Church, 2660 Niagara Falls Blvd, Tonawanda, NY 14150. Burial will be at Acacia Park Cemetery following the ceremony. Carol’s family will forever remember her loving heart, her deep faith, and the quiet strength she showed throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply.
