Jacqueline (Andrews) Page, 92, of North Tonawanda, New York, Monday (May 11,2026) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, William F. Page. Jacqueline was born in Watertown, New York on September 21, 1933 to the late Carrie (Kendrew) and Maurice Andrews. Jacqueline was a graduate of the House of Good Samaritan School of Nursing. She continued her education at the University at Buffalo, New York earning her Bachelor in Science of Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degrees. Jacqueline (Jacqui) was a dedicated nurse for over 40 years. A natural caregiver, Jacqueline spent her career at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, New York. Her “nurse heart” was her hallmark, providing compassionate care to countless patients and their families. In January 1969, as the supervisor in charge of the emergency room, Jacqueline triaged and managed the injuries from the explosion and fire at the local Durez Plastics Company. During the 1980s, Jacqueline developed and implemented staffing ratios that were later used to ensure safe staffing throughout the 1983 CWA strike which ensured DeGraff Memorial Hospital remained open for the community. At the time of her retirement, Jacqueline was the Assistant Director of Nursing at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Her colleagues remember her unwavering commitment to the nursing profession. Growing up in Watertown, New York, Jacqueline spent countless summers in the Adirondack Mountains camping at Fish Creek and Rollins Pond. This was a passion sparked by her parents who were among the first campers to the state park in 1925. Her love of the outdoors, camping, and kayaking was shared with her children, creating endless memories together. Even in her senior years, Jacqueline was easily recognized by staff and campers alike by her sunny Volkswagen Bug with her kayak perched atop. Her sense of adventure further led her to travel much of the East Coast of the US, as well as the United Kingdom and central Europe. Jacqueline found great pleasure in the arts frequently attending theater in Stratford, Ontario for the Shakespeare Festival, Friday matinees at the BPO and live stream performances of The Metropolitan Opera on Saturday afternoons. In later years she found quiet pleasure in meeting friends for conversation and knitting. She was known for talking more than she knitted often leaving her projects unfinished. Above all, Jacqueline treasured time spent with family and close friends. She found joy in everyday moments, shared meals, laughter, traditions, and conversations that brought people together. These moments became the foundation of cherished memories that will be held close for years to come. A light has gone out, but its warmth remains. Jacqueline is survived by her son Richard W. Page; her daughter Bronwyn A. Page; her grandson Tyler Page; great grandchildren Sky Page, AnnaLisa Page, Talya Becker, Kalob Page; and great great granddaughter Celestial dues in June 2026. Jacqueline is predeceased by her brother Richard Andrews. Family will be present to receive friends Wednesday (May 27, 2026) from 4:00 PM to 8:00 P.M. at the Wattengel Funeral home, 533 Meadow Drive North Tonawanda, NY 14120, where funeral services will be held Thursday (May 28, 2026) at 10:00 AM.
